Netflix on XBOX having issues. There is a fix.

Could not connect to Netflix this morning. I got a "Xbox error code 1" instead. Did some research and hit up @xboxsupport on twitter. They linked me to the Xbox service status page and that had this:

Users may experience difficulties with the following services:

Browsing or playing movies from the Netflix Instant Queue

The following workaround has been provided for this issue: 1. Go to "My Xbox", and then select "System Settings" 2. Select "Memory" 3. Highlight any storage device, and then press "Y" on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices) 4. Select "Clear System Cache" 5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select "Yes"

I had a problem for about 5 days. Clearing cache didn't help, deleted and reinstalled Netflix didn't help, I called XBOX had a call back from a escalated tech who sent it up again to the next higher tier of escalation. Haven't heard back yet but the problem fixed itself, wild.

For anyone that doesn't know, if you do this, you will need to re download the latest patch for every game you decide to play.

This also works when a patch is released & everyone gets kicked off for the update except for you & you don't see the update, just go to the dash & clear your cashe. Once you do that & load up the game, it'll prompt you to download the latest update...

All the issues I mentioned above have been resolved according to the web site. All Xbox Live services are up and running in the green at the moment.
