PSW (PlayStation World) Magazine could have revealed what the next Call of Duty will be revealed and where it is going to be set.

In an article titled "COD To Ignite The Cold War", PSW Writer Jonathan Todd says "..developer Treyarch is hoping for a repeat performance the Vietnam-set World At War 2"

This almost certainly reveals that the game will be based in Vietnam and that it is most likely to be titled World At War 2.

This is all sounding brilliant to us as it is a new scene for a war game in the recent years. Let's just hope Treyarch can perform.



now how can you call a Vietnam game "World at War"? (of course this isnt set in stone)

thing is, I dont think it would sell well, every Vietnam game so far has tanked. I think its because the US consumer still has a bad taste in its mouth from that war.

I think lots of people want to fight in the jungle and its semi-modern warfare. I dont think the outcome of wars is going to keep people from playing a game.

I think Treyark knows what they are getting into.

I am excited about this. I called it a year or two ago.

I would love to have some missions be small units, at the end of the game you find out that your unit is the first SEAL team ever. Would be cool.

Treyarch has given the community some really good support for W@W since its release.

I was born 5 years after we pulled out of vietnam. There is absolutely no taste in my mouth regarding vietnam, good or bad.........and i think that my generation and under feel the same.

In fact, Vietnam has had quite a bit of commercial success in the states with movies such as Platoon, Apocolypse now, Good Morning Vietnam, and Full Metal Jacket.......not too mentiion the music of that era remaining quite popular.

the lack of success for a vietnam style game has more to do with poor execution in my view than anything else.
