I may never pay full price for a video game again
So, I was looking for different places to try and find the map packs for Black Ops. I know, go figure. Anyway, I happened upon Gamespot and noticed that there was a "buy" button listed under many of the games for substantially reduced prices. Apparently, there is a fairly new website called "Glyde" that takes all of the fuss out of selling used games, dvds, cds, and books. Not sure if you guys have seen this or not, but since I usually buy used games at gamestop, I figure why not save even more money. Of course, I'll probably still buy new games that I really want when they come out. Any thoughts?

I just did a comparison for some games I want to unload with this and ebay (completed auctions) to see which would be wiser to use.
Got mixed results: Quote:

You didn't add the price of the mailer you use to mail it. Also doesn't ebay get their cut of your sale as well? I agree, you can perhaps make more on ebay...but for me it's just plain simple. Mailer's are sent to me, I pop in the game and out it goes. I've NEVER left my house....seriously, I've never left my house for weeks.....perhaps I'm becoming a shut-in?

Oh Really?
So you don't pay the shipping? Glyde covers that? OK so I know how they make their money. <-- not a bad thing. Was just wondering where they get their cut. Ebay's fees are very minute and you can add that fee to the shipping so the buyer ends up buying it. The end result is that the buyer pays the same/similar shipping. But with ebay your profit for things you sell is looking like (for what I am selling anyway) it will be higher. I think it may boil down to what you are willing to do. Glyde makes it easier. ebay has you doing more leg work but you have a better chance of getting more for your used games. Glyde definitely sounds like the future for used game buying selling. |

Bill of Sale 7/16/11 Game Price $18.00 12% Transaction Fee -$2.16 Mailer Cost -$1.25 Sale Proceeds $14.59 I agree, you'll get more from ebay...but I'm all about less hassle. I guess it gets down to what someone's willing to do..... Second read......DUH....you do pay for the mailer.... "Give a man a beer, he'll waste an afternoon.
